The start of the trout season 2012----My record.

I have started this blog so I can keep a weekly record of my fly fishing exploits on the Upper Clyde.
I also hope it will be informative to those who decide to come and fish this delightful part of Scotland.

The brown trout season starts in a months time(15th March) and I am looking forward to venturing out on the river as many times as I can.
I will be covering an area from just below Wolfclyde Bridge Biggar, to Roberton burn.
This stretch is controlled by Lamington Angling.
Then on to Abington and Crawford, to just above Camps Bridge, all controlled by UCAPA.
Throughout the season I will be casting my line in as many areas as I can.
Using a selection of flies,(all tied for me by local Clyde anglers)in the hope of tempting the river's resident trout and grayling.
As well as my fishing reports, I would like to share with you my sightings of the local wildlife I encounter while on these trips.
Its a big area to cover and I hope that I am up for it.
As I am now retired and with all the time in the world-I'm going to give it a go.
There is still a month left until the start, so I better get all my rods in order, check all my fly boxes are filled and just sit back and count the days down until the off.
